Plan ahead & do your research.
Just like anything else, wedding dresses can be very expensive, but you can also find reasonably priced dresses at local wedding dress boutiques, secondhand online or in-store, by shopping sales, and buying off the rack. Before you start the shopping process, get clear on a budget. Then, do some research on boutiques that will fit your price range. This will lessen the sting that someones comes from rushing out to an expensive wedding dress boutique and trying on (and falling in love with) gowns that will blow your wedding budget.
Buy your wedding dress off the rack.
At New Tradition Bridal, we source dresses from manufactures offering the best style and quality. Each orders has 10-12 different styles per collection, delivering new styles and trends for the season to keep our inventory fresh and new. This method allows us to offer brides dresses off the rack (although more sizes and colors can be ordered), and pricing them between $1000 and $1500.
An added benefit of buying off the rack? You get to take your dress home with you! And as your wedding dress is the centerpiece of the wedding, having it in your possession will allow you to compare color, décor, bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc making sure everything is styled to perfection!
Account for extras.
This goes back to doing your research and getting clear on a budget. Outside of your dress, you might need alterations, special undergarments, a veil, maybe a shaw or belt depending on your vision. Take these items into consideration when shopping for your dress to ensure you have room to comfortably pay for those extra items or costs.
So brides, we’d love to hear… what did you do to find your dream dress without blowing your budget?
My wife and daughter have been shopping for wedding dresses for her upcoming marriage, and I think that having some tips to help them would be good for me, as well as the two of them. I’m glad that you talked about built in support for wedding dresses, and how that could save you a significant amount of money. I’m going to have to share your article with the two of them, and hopefully it can help them find wedding dresses that won’t put us too far over budget!
I like that you mentioned that you should take all of the alterations and other details into account when putting your budget together. My fiance has been stressing about her wedding dress, and I’m just trying to help her find the perfect one. I think she’ll look great no matter which one she chooses, but I want her to feel all the more special on our wedding day. Thanks for the information.
That is such a gorgeous dress! It kind of looks like there is a blush tint to it. I think those colors coordinate with the flowers so well. I would love to find a place that has cheap wedding dresses in a blush color.
